Scandy Enterprise for iOS enables users to generate full-color 3D scans with a high degree of precision and versatility. Compatible with a range of Apple devices, including iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, 11 series, 12 series, 13 series, 14 series—and iPad Pro models from 2018 onward—it provides a robust platform for detailed 3D capture.
All scanning, processing, and rendering are performed locally on the device, ensuring data privacy and eliminating reliance on cloud infrastructure. Users can save their scans without restrictions and export in multiple file formats such as .stl, .ply, .obj, .glb, and .usdz. The application offers flexible scaling options (meters, centimeters, millimeters, inches) and supports various 3D editing environments including ZBrush, Blender, Unreal Engine, OpenGL, Maya, CryEngine, 3DS Max, Cinema 4D, and AutoCAD.
In addition to on-device processing, the app facilitates direct sharing and uploading of models to platforms like Sketchfab and Thangs.com. This integration streamlines workflows for professionals seeking to incorporate 3D scans into broader projects.
Pricing is structured through auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock unlimited export capabilities: monthly or annual plans are available, along with a lifetime subscription option. Subscriptions are billed via the user’s iTunes account and will automatically renew unless renewal is canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Refunds are not issued for unused subscription time.
A key requirement is that compatible hardware must include the TrueDepth front-facing sensor for optimal performance—these are limited to specific iPhone and iPad Pro models. Users should note that deleting a scan is permanent; recovery is not possible as data is not backed up in the cloud. Additionally, due to the GPU-intensive nature of the application, performance may decline after multiple consecutive scans. Allowing intervals between captures can enhance processing speeds.
All aspects of data handling—from capturing to storage—are confined to the device to maintain user privacy and security.
